The Wicked Imperial Module adopts a systems-thinking yet lean approach in which postgraduate students from IMPERIAL and RCA engage directly with real-world wicked problems.

The Wicked Imperial Module projects involve multiple stakeholders across diverse organisational, sectoral, and geographic contexts. Participants are expected to conduct primary research by stepping into the actual environments where these challenges unfold—often beyond institutional boundaries and national contexts.
The programme is dedicated to Wicked Acceleration: a systemic, lean, and forward-looking approach to addressing complex challenges through the integration of systems thinking and lean experimentation. Students are supported by a suite of purpose-designed tools, most notably the so-called Wicked Swiss Army Knife, which enables them to move from problem framing and stakeholder alignment to testing interventions and accelerating viable pathways to impact.
